watersedgeAndrew Kusmin "Palette of Dreams"

The Chelmsford Art Society is featuring noted artist, Andrew Kusmin, who will present a talk on his art work as well as discuss his new book, "Palette of Dreams". The artist is well known in this area as a prolific watercolor artist, art instructor and the owner of the Kusmin Art Gallery, Plymouth, MA. Many will know Dr. Kusmin from his former career in dentistry in this area. At his retirement, he decided to go back to his first love. the world of art.

Kusmin's book, is an artful story of one man's journey to answer the artist's question "why to paint". His paintings are stories of multiple , changing images, many memories of a place, things and people. The book features more that 200 of the Andrew's original paintings presented in nine chapters that reflect the various themes. Comments about his book say that it answers the questions "what shall I paint" and "why am I painting it". The book is compelling, refreshing and unlike any other art book. Kusmin demonstrates his gift of capturing complicated and often intense stories in a single moment.

Kusmin's work suggests realism, but it is rooted in abstract design, bold color and light. The artist shares his vision with others. "I want to draw out my students' own version of the world." His students were in large part the inspiration for this book.
