Maryanne Peterson

Maryanne Peterson, a Westford resident, is an artist continually exploring various mediums, usually in acrylics, gouache, oil pastel and marker. She also applies printmaking and collage in her art. “I haven’t established a particular style or genre; I just let the medium take me on a journey. I also enjoy working digitally as the options are endless, and there’s no hesitation to change or modify.”

As a public school art teacher for two decades, she employed this method to engage students whose ages ranged from preschool to middle school.

Maryanne holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and a Masters Degree in Studio Teaching from Boston University. Her early career began in visual merchandising for the Jordan Marsh Company, as well as a freelance artist who painted murals, faux finishes and custom furniture for private and commercial commissions. Her work has been exhibited in juried shows in Cohasset, MA.
