This year her painting “Vulnerable” (above) was the Grand Prize Winner in the Congressional Art Show 6th District . It will be exhibited at the Capitol Building in Washington DC for one year.

“I have always loved art. I grew up drawing everywhere, even on the furniture and walls of our house, and I never grew out of that passion. Creating art provides me the time to reflect and investigate, explore and experiment, recognize and reconcile so that I can continue to grow and evolve. Art helps me to voice unconventional ideas and show my passionate views on life, despite the deeply rooted Asian values that encourage modesty and restrained expressions.

Evocative in the light or dark, close up you can see the technical skill and imagination that went into her “What I Can’t Show” installation created and exhibited at Studio Noma in Waltham. Herin drew on her cultural background creating Korean masks in paper mâché, then personalized them with individual colorful printmaking, hanging them with ribbon and LED lights .

We wish her wonderful success in her future in art. Congratulations Herin!
