My love of art began as soon as I was old enough to hold a pencil. As a child, I always had a paintbrush and sketchbook in hand and during my teen years, saved for college by painting the storefront windows downtown in my hometown of Hudson, Massachusetts for the holidays each year. I received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Graphic Design and worked as a designer for several Boston area advertising and design firms and educational publishing houses.
An observer of nature and people, my oil and gouache paintings are a translation of my feelings and experiences, carefully placed on canvas. My work awakens the senses, and tells the story of joyful moments in time, and invites my audience to join me in my world and respond to these experiences. My love of the beach and my time spent kayaking, cycling, hiking, and camping throughout New England inspires my work. I am especially intrigued by the colors of natural sunlight bouncing off a white building. The kaleidoscope of color that appears within light and shadow continues to amaze me and plays a crucial role in my work. I am in constant awe of all the beauty nature offers and I enjoy traveling to different destinations throughout New England with my painting gear to paint.
My work has been included in the Places I Remember en Plein Air Show at the Bolton Library, the Winter Member Show at the Chelmsford Art Society, the Postcard show at Concord Art, and Nature’s Kaleidoscope exhibit with the Newburyport Art Association.
