Avery Marr is this year Shirley Lavoie Memorial Art Scholarship Winner.  She is a graduate of Chelmsford High School Class of 2022 and will be attending Champlain College. She will be going into their Communications and Creative Media Division Undecided, however the main areas she will be looking at are Graphic Design, Filmmaking and related majors. She loves art because of its versatility. She feels art can be a way to cope, a way of self expression, a way to educate others, a way to get to someone when words aren’t good enough, a way to fuel a movement, or simply, a way to have fun.

At the Chelmsford High School Senior Award ceremony, she was awarded both the CHSTv Above and Beyond Award and the Visual Arts Department Award. Beyond that, she has participated in many different exhibits in different mediums, such as the MAEA Youth Art Month for my Graphic Design “Self/Portrait” and acrylic painting “Night Light”, MAEA Emerging Artist Exhibit for her photography with “Winter Sun,” Taking Flight: Juried Youth Bird Art Exhibition with her colored pencil “Coming in For a Landing,” Hello There! 4th Annual Greater Lowell Regional Art Show for her colored pencil and eye-shadow piece “Shattered” as well as her short film “Reflection” accepted into both the Chelmsford Film Festival and the Middlesex Film Festival, which was screened at the Chelmsford Center of the Arts.
