The process begins digitally, where he draws an image with a few layers to depict his subject. The image then gets separated into its pieces and traced onto plywood. The lines are inked and hand-cut using a coping saw that’s been passed down to Jimmy from an artisan in his community. Each piece is then layered and framed in a shadow box.
The presentation will be open to the public plus be Live Streamed by the Chelmsford Art Society on May 25th, 2022 at 7:00 PM. Here is the basic link for Jimmy Le: https://youtu.be/NG0UmET4Xa0
