The Chelmsford Art Society invites graduating seniors to apply to our annual scholarship program. The Shirley Lavoie Memorial $1,000 Scholarship is open to students furthering their education at a 2 or 4-year university, college, art school or institute in Fine Arts/Visual Arts. This includes the broad range of careers in art today; architecture, product design, ceramics, glass, fashion & interior design, painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, graphic design, illustration, comic art, animation, film/video, digital art, AI, video game design, etc.
Completed applications include: the application form, an artist statement, college acceptance letter and a portfolio of your art. Your portfolio should include 6-10 artworks in a variety of media and subject matter.
The Scholarship Committee will invite each applicant in for a short interview and portfolio review. Applicants should bring 3-4 pieces of their art to the interview; sketchbook pages can be included.
