Submission Information:
1-2 entries per member, all 2D and 3D media welcome. (*Artificial Intelligence Art is not accepted) Art must have been completed in the past 4 years, not exhibited in previous Chelmsford Art Society shows, with subject matter suitable for Library patrons and children, 3D art no higher then 10″, 2D art no larger than 44″ in any direction, framed and securely wired for hanging (sawtooth or clip frames cannot be accepted). Fiber Art should include a sleeve or other place for hardware and be ready to hang.
*No entry fee with active membership

Sales: All sales will be handled by the Art Society. Artists receive 75% and the Art Society receives a 25% commission to support this show and the overall work of the Chelmsford Art Society.

Liability: Neither the Chelmsford Art Society nor the Chelmsford Library is responsible for the loss or damage to any work submitted for any cause. Submitting work will imply agreement on the part of the artist with this condition.

The Winter Members Show of the Chelmsford Art Society is supported in part by a grant from the Chelmsford Cultural Council, local agency that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Crissie Murphy will be presenting a talk on November 8th at 7 PM at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts. She will discuss her work with the various branches of the military, as well as her other art experiences.

Crissie received her BFA in Illustration from Massachusetts College of Art, with additional studies at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Harvard. The subjects of Crissie’s paintings are wide and varied. All offer exquisite detail and sense of design and spirit. Her original oils, watercolors, and graphics in various media combine the spontaneous narrative of sketchbooks with the finish and textural interest of studio work.
Crissie was chosen to participate in the prestigious US Air Force Art Program. At the request of the Pentagon she has documented operations overseas and at home, she has been deployed to Haiti and Guantanamo Bay shortly after the earthquake to document relief efforts. A recent recipient of the ASAA Founder’s Recognition Award for her work depicting Special Operations Forces, her paintings currently hang in the Pentagon, and are permanent additions to the USAF Collection. Plus featured in the Air Force 60th Anniversary Exhibition, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of the USAF, US Coast Guard,  and various other museums and galleries across the country. She recently won awards at both the North Shore Art Association and Whistler Museum.

Workshop by Queen Adeline: Selling Your Art: Converting fans into purchasing customers

The Chelmsford Art Society is pleased to present Queen Adeline, speaking about strategies to sell your art at 7:00pm,
October 11, in the Cabaret Room at the
Chelmsford Center for the Arts.

Queen Adeline is the founder and designer behind the sustainable fashion brand. Queen Adeline Collections is a sustainable fashion brand dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind styles for women on the go. Each piece is inspired by the vibrant culture of Africa and is made using holistic and sustainable processes.

Visit her at Western Avenue on the 2nd floor
Meeting fee: Public welcome ($5); members and students with ID, free.

Jaelyn “Flow” Caron is the 2023 winner of the Shirley Lavoie Memorial Art Society. Flow was a student at Lowell High School and she will be studying art at Massachusetts College of Art and Design for the Fall 2023 semester.

During Flow’s time at Lowell High School she joined an after school art club to draw and make friends. This year her school started the National Art Honor Society and she volunteered over 60 hours of her time for this club during the school year. She also took an early college course in Graphic Design to better prepare herself of art school.

Her dream is to one day be able to run her own animated show with her own characters. Art has always had such an amazing impact of her life and she has found it can tell stories without words. The Chelmsford Art Society wishes her the best in the pursuit of her art dream.

The 4th July Art Festival Reception will be occur on July 1, 2023. It will be held at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts in the auditorium on the 2nd floor. The CCA building is fully accessible with an elevator to carry guests to all levels, parking can be found in the rear of the building.
